I have given this so much thought that it still pains me to even announce this. After going on and off so many times and not being consistent here, I've decided to no longer continue with This Great Perhapsless.
This is mainly because as I try to find a good balance between the things I love, trying to figure myself and things out, I find myself not having enough time that I want to invest in this blog. Mainly it's a too many books not enough time to read and give reviews the best I can situation.
I will not stop blogging, however. I will continue that with my other two blogs, Your Inner Octopus and That Girl. I may occasionally put up a post about all my book loves, but to really invest in it is just really difficult right now.
Thank you all who have supported this blog in some way, and a BIG thank you to the authors who allowed to let me read their amazing works in exchange for reviews.
Love all of you,
Lydia.

It's May! This equals spring cleaning of sorts. I'm going to take it to a whole other level though. I'm going to clean out my TBR (To Be Read) Pile. I spent the majority of April playing catch up in my free time and I have exactly enough books to do a different book everyday for the whole month of May! Not all of them have been read but a good enough amount to get the month started!
Starting tomorrow (Because May came fast and I forgot >< Sorry!) I will be throwing three posts at you!
Also be sure to come back on Thursday because This Great Perhapsless is one of the awesome
blog tour stops for
Mary Maddox's amazing book Darkspot!
Can't wait to get the ball rolling again!

Hola Amigos!
Let's cut to the chase, This Great Perhapsless is getting a complete overhaul! That's right, a new fresh start to everything.
"Will things be different?"
Yes, a little bit. The layout of my page, the formatting of everything, and the way I do my reviews is going to be a little different for a bit. You will still get the same reviews and fun things that will happen across this blog, it's just that I've been out of the game for awhile and I want this blog to still be exciting and current.
I have some cool things planned, a couple of blog tours, some cool new structure things, and more.
That's why come May 1st I am going to be back with a fierceness that I don't think I have had towards this blog since it started. May is going to be a little weird, I will warn you. Because of being of it for awhile, May will be the month of chipping away the awful TBR (To Be Read) pile as well as the blog tours and new stuff that I have squeezed in to not make it too much a blast from a recent past.
I can't wait to get started and share my renewed excitement for everything!
In the meanwhile, I have started a new blog, Your Inner Octopus, and have continued to blog on That Girl. I hope you give them a looksie and will meet me back here May 1st!
Love you all!

In Why Not Me?,
Kaling shares her ongoing journey to find contentment and excitement in
her adult life, whether it’s falling in love at work, seeking new
friendships in lonely places, attempting to be the first person in
history to lose weight without any behavior modification whatsoever, or
most important, believing that you have a place in Hollywood when you’re
constantly reminded that no one looks like you.
(...)
Mindy turns the anxieties, the glamour, and the
celebrations of her second coming-of-age into a laugh-out-loud funny
collection of essays that anyone who’s ever been at a turning point in
their life or career can relate to. And those who’ve never been at a
turning point can skip to the parts where she talks about meeting
Bradley Cooper.

Derek’s little sister
wants one of those creepy-looking dolls, staring at him from the strange
new doll shop in town, and what his sister wants, she gets. Now they’re
stuck with a doll that looks so human, it gives Derek the creeps.
When
Derek tells his friends, Martin and Jamie, about the new shop with
creepy human-like dolls, they want to see for themselves. That has “bad
idea” written all over it, but he takes his friends there anyway.
They
meet the mysterious doll maker, who reminds Derek of Dr. Frankenstein,
and who brainwashes Martin into buying one of those scary dolls. Derek
and Jamie push and pull Martin out of the shop, but something isn’t
right with their friend. He’s shivering all over, and he has no memory
of what happened in the shop.
Martin’s condition worsens every
day, and Derek’s sister grows more and more obsessed with her new doll.
Derek and Jamie have to find out what’s going on, and fast, because...the
doll maker seems linked to a bunch of mysterious disappearances, and
the last thing Derek wants is his sister, or his friend, being next on
the doll maker’s list. (GoodReads)
This book was like stepping back into my childhood and reading Goosebumps under my blanket with a flashlight.
The Doll Maker by Majanka Verstraete is the kind of book that has you getting very nervous for these boys that come across theses weird dolls. The depiction of them reminded me why I am VERY picky about dolls and had more stuffed animals than them.
A little bit twisted Pinocchio, a little bit Chucky for young kids (I hate to use that analogy but it's the only one aside from The Doll House movie that I can think that describes that so much!) it was a fun read and a relief in a good way to figure out what happens in the end.
I loved that Verstraete captured that R.L. Stine feel with out being too scary and still very enjoyable. My favorite part is where Derek and Jamie figure the whole thing out and try to confront the bad guy very nonchalantly. It was great! I can't wait for the rest of the Weirdville series to come out!
You can get The Doll Maker here and check out Majanka Verstraete's GoodReads page here!
OH! And Verstraete is also responsible for this gem that I fell in love with as well. You definitely need to read this on in time for October!
